The Shock Alliance is a successor of the most prominent art activist phenomena that marked Serbian art practice during ex Yugoslavia war and post war time – The Led Art, The Art Clinic, The Shock Gallery.
The Shock Alliance questions the terms of center & periphery and their relations, both from spatial-geographic and political-financial standpoints. The idea of a specific concept in presenting works of contemporary art becomes a form of collaboration and circuitry of several art associations in the region. By creating a chain of so-called micro-galleries (cca 2m²) a new exhibiting concept and new manner of collaboration would be promoted.
